Governments and public bodies play a major role to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They have committed to reach the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address global sustainability challenges by 2030. This means defining and implementing ambitious long-term strategies, as well as shaping policies and appropriate legal and regulatory frameworks to guide and catalyse collective action at every levels – including businesses and civil society. Non-governmental organizations are also essential enablers to be empowered in order to influence and leverage the transition towards a sustainable development.
